  As my son's level of hockey has increased, so has his need for kit to match that performance. OBO isn't cheap but we have always found their kit to be excellent quality and above all protective. We thought the body armour arms looked chunky when we bought them and were really quite concerned about this but they don't impede movement at all and offer that all important protection.   These ROBO arm guards give maximum protection whithout compromising movement, they fit very well with the ROBO chest guard I have. They are also pretty hard wearing and show no damage on the elbows from sliding around as I wear a short sleeve smock.   I was always a firm subscriber to large arm pads and made the move over to 'piece it together' arm and chest pads quite late. My prime concern was always level of protection and the feeling that arm pads like this would leave me exposed. However, having taken the plunge, I can certainly recommend them as they piece easily with the OBO Robo chestguard and provide plenty of protection not been hit between the pads yet in 18 months of heavy use. Sometimes the stitching does pull and stretch. I had this issue early after buying but a quick trip to Barrington's and they replaced them without a second thought. The fabric on the new ones have begun to pull but no more so than cosmetic and no more than wear or tear. If you want more mobility but are worried about exposure and protection offered by smaller elbow guards, these are the ones to get.
